Our policy and mentality

We believe knowledge grows through cooperation. We act with openness, professional responsibility and respect for people, communities and the natural environment. We encourage self-regulation, good practice and continuous improvement, while making aquaponics understandable and accessible to society.

Our work is guided by public benefit, social responsibility and the exchange of experience. We welcome people who want to contribute freely and voluntarily to these aims and who will participate with integrity and respect for our statutes and internal rules.

Our objectives

We aim to contribute to the development of aquaponics among professionals, public and private entities; provide a meeting point for training and dissemination; connect companies, institutions and educational centres; raise awareness of aquaponics as a sustainable food model; and advance methods and techniques through research and information.

Who can join

People and organizations that share AU's aims may apply as a number member with full statutory rights and an annual fee of 360 €, or as a free sympathizer with the restricted rights shown above. Admission always requires AU's approval.
